Wheeling Forward is proud to be an official charity partner of the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon!
This is one of our favorite times and events of year – The NYC Marathon! It is all about bringing awareness and raising money for Wheeling Forward. These past few years have been quite challenging for the disability community, and the budget cuts keep coming, it seems that we have become a forgotten people once again. This year, Team Wheeling Forward is competing in The NYC Marathon for those that do not have the voice, support and love needed to overcome their personal challenges of being disabled.
Team Wheeling Forward will be participating in its 10th NYC Marathon! Every time we do the 26.2 miles through NYC streets (the greatest city in the world),it is in honor to represent those living with disabilities!
“It is a great privilege to participate in this great race and most importantly to use this as a platform to help those in need. These are tough times for everyone, but they are particularly difficult for those living with disabilities. Anything we can do to move the needle and improve quality of life for the disability, is what we are dedicated to doing and finding a path forward!” said Alex Elegudin, co-founder of Wheeling Forward.
This year we compete so that Wheeling Forward gets the funding that it needs to run it’s Adaptive Sporting program so people with disabilities can get out there and start being active again! Plus for all our other great supportive programs which are ran through the leadership of Alex Elegudin– we are asking you all for any amount that you are able to contribute so that people can get the proper wheelchairs through our wheelchair donation program and continue to have mobility; get help going back to school; get out of nursing homes to live freely in the community; and much more!
